Abstract:
Ergebnisse der PISA Studien (Programme for International Student Assessment) haben gezeigt, dass 15-Jährige aus zugewanderten Familien in Deutschland deutlich geringere Leistungen erzielen als ihre Mitschülerinnen und -schüler ohne Migrationsgeschichte (Baumert & Schümer, 2001; Ramm, Prenzel, Heidemeier & Walter, 2004). Mit Hilfe von Mehrgruppenstrukturgleichungsmodellen wird geprüft, ob diese Schülergruppe auch ein negativeres akademisches Selbstkonzept im mathematischen und verbalen Bereich aufweist. Weiterhin wird untersucht, inwieweit die Zusammenhänge zwischen den Selbstkonzepten und den Leistungen im Einklang mit dem von Marsh (1986) postulierten Bezugsrahmenmodell stehen. Die Datengrundlage bildet die Stichprobe der 15-Jährigen aus PISA 2000, wobei ausschließlich 5208 Schülerinnen und Schüler in Hauptschulen der alten Bundesländer berücksichtigt wurden. Es zeigt sich, dass Jugendliche mit nichtdeutscher Familiensprache ein negativeres verbales und ein positiveres mathematisches Selbstkonzept ... : Results from the PISA study (Programme for International Student Assessment) have shown that students with immigrant backgrounds in Germany reach considerably lower levels of achievement than students from native families. In the present study we used the PISA 2000 data for students attending the lower track in the former West German Länder (N = 5208) in order to test whether immigrant students also display more negative academic self-concepts. In addition, we explored whether this group differs from native students in tems of the relationships among academic self-concepts and achievement indicators as they are specified in the Internal/External Frame of Reference Model (Marsh, 1986) Results from multiple group structural equation models show that immigrant students have more negative verbal and more positive mathematical self-concepts than their peers from native families The Internal/External Frame of Reference Model could be replicated for both student groups, although the postulated relationships were ...
