In this paper, I list these examples and explain how we made sense of Benedict's writing by accessing knowledge that we possessed regarding the state of affairs in anthropological research at the time of this paper and the influence of Franz Boas on Benedict's approach to fieldwork. By doing so we found the theme of the article, the cohesive ties between sentences and hopefully, we were able to create a translation that was coherent.
