Qualitat i fiabilitat de les obres de referència general per a la correcció de textos ; Quality and reliability of the general reference works for proofreading

Abstract:
El coneixement de la bibliografia de consulta més adequada amb vista a la correcció d’un text, tingui el grau de formalitat que tingui i sigui de l’àmbit d’especialitat que sigui, és essencial per a una bona resolució dels dubtes lingüístics, terminològics i tipogràfics que s’hi puguin presentar. Amb aquesta finalitat, els autors —partint de la pràctica diària, de l’experiència adquirida com a correctors i redactors i de la intuïció que les característiques externes reflecteixen la qualitat del contingut— han aconseguit aïllar vint-i-un trets o característiques que han de tenir les obres que poden ésser realment útils —és a dir, les obres de referència general— i han establert un barem per a classificar-les i determinar-ne el nivell de qualitat i fiabilitat. ; A knowledge of the most appropriate reference literature for proofreading, whatever the degree of formality of the text in question and whatever its area of speciality, is essential to properly resolve the linguistic, terminological and typographic doubts that may arise. To this end, the authors, starting from their daily experience, the know-how they acquired as proofreaders and editors, and the intuition that external characteristics reflect the quality of content, have managed to isolate 21 traits or characteristics that truly useful reference works should have, and have established a scale for classifying them and determining their degree of quality and reliability.
