Adding some color to pronunciation- or can non-native speakers learn to pronounce the colored vowels [ɚ] and [ɝ] after one phonology activity?
Abstract: Per aquest estudi es demanà als estudiants que fessin dues activitats on s'havien de gravar. Entre ambdues, se'ls va informar sobre la pronunciació dels fonemes [ɚ] i [ɝ] i se'ls demanà de fer una activitat de fonètica. Totes les paraules pronunciades correcta o incorrectament amb [ɚ] o [ɝ] s'han classificat i estudiat mitjançant anàlisis quantitatius i qualitatius, ja que s'han fet estadístiques i posteriorment interpretacions a partir de les dades extretes. Per tant, aquesta tesi examina aquestes millores en la pronunciació entre ambdós podcasts, els quals en alguns casos desafien la narrativa de perspectives com la Hipòtesi del període crític ; For this study the students were asked to perform two activities in which they had to record themselves. In between, the pupils were given some input on the pronunciation of the phonemes [ɚ] and [ɝ] and were asked to perform a phonetics activity. All the words pronounced correctly or incorrectly with [ɚ] or [ɝ] have been classified and studied through quantitative and qualitative analyses, for statistics are taken from the data to be interpreted afterwards. Thus, this dissertation examines these pronunciation improvements between both podcasts, which in some cases challenge the narrative of perspectives like the Critical Period Hypothesis (CPH)
