Abstract:
Los co-compuestos o binomios léxicos son construcciones que responden a una estructura peculiar, básicamente binaria, y que abundan en las lenguas del mundo. Como fenómeno léxico universal, requiere una descripción y una explicación que ponga en claro tanto las causas de su abundancia, como su papel en el lenguaje dentro del componente léxico, y, en menor medida, del gramatical. Asimismo, los binomios suelen tener un destacado interés fraseológico y cultural. Su estudio nos lleva a indagar las motivaciones de su creación y expansión, y a valorar su importancia como un universal cognitivo y lexicogénico. En español existe un gran numero de binomios o co-compuestos. De ellos destacan los que tienen carácter idiomático y es a estos a los que se presta especial atención en este trabajo. Para ello, en primer lugar, se establecen criterios para determinar, al menos operativamente, qué son binomios o co-compuestos y qué no. En segundo lugar, se enumeran y analizan sus características estructurales y semánticas más relevantes. ; Co-compounds or lexical binomials are linguistic constructions that show a special binary structure that appear in almost any language of the world. As a universal lexical phenomenon, it requires a thorough description and explanation that makes clear, both the reason of its highly frequency in languages as its role as an important part of the lexical component of languages, and, to a lesser extent, of the grammatical component. Binomials usually also have an outstanding phraseological and cultural aspect. Its study leads us to investigate the motivations of its creation and expansion, and to assess its importance as a cognitive and lexicogenic universal. In Spanish there is a huge number of binomials or co-compounds. From them, those that have an idiomatic character are of most importance, therefore special attention is paid to them in this work. In order to achieve this goal we will firstly establish a set of criteria to define, at least operationally, what can be considered binomials or co-compounds and what can not. Secondly, its most relevant structural and semantic characteristics will be enumerated and analyzed.
