Defesa: Curitiba, 07/04/2015 ; Inclui referências : f. 235-243 ; Resumo: A presente pesquisa tem como foco as populacoes indigenas da familia linguistica Guaviare-Japura (outrora "maku"), habitantes das zonas interfluviais (e, atualmente, as margens de rios) do noroeste amazonico e, de modo mais detido, foca-se sobre a populacao Daw, um pequeno grupo residente nas proximidades de Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, AM. Mediante uma revisao critica da bibliografia, e uma pesquisa de campo realizada junto aos Daw entre os meses de outubro e dezembro de 2012, buscou-se problematizar determinados tropos e dicotomias naturalizadas (fundamentalmente, a oposicao "indios do mato"/"indios do rio") nas descricoes academicas bem como nas narrativas de outros grupos indigenas e de nao-indigenas locais a respeito dos Guaviare-Japura; enfatizando assim as autoatribuicoes e compreensoes dos proprios Daw sobre seu contexto mais amplo. Destaca-se, entre as questoes aqui contempladas, o entendimento daw face a atuacao da missao protestante em seu territorio, observando as implicacoes desta alianca; as negociacoes entre os Daw e os Tukano, e o intermedio da acao missionaria entre ambos; as relacoes historicas travadas com populacoes Bare; a configuracao socioespacial da atual (e unica) comunidade onde vivem todos os Daw, Warua: suas diferenciacoes internas e sua posicao estrategica frente as demais comunidades e sitios de grupos indigenas avizinhados. Nao obstante, buscou-se realizar uma etnografia tambem sobre os transitos e presenca daw na cidade de Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, situada na margem do rio Negro oposta ao local onde se encontram os Daw. Atraves destes enfoques sobre a socioespacialidade e sobre as politicas daw diante da existencia de diversas "gentes" - indigenas e nao-indigenas - presentes do rio Negro, foi possivel observar e discutir uma serie de transformações agenciadas por este coletivo, entretanto, invariavelmente mediadas tambem pelo agenciamento de terceiros - pastores, pesquisadores, grupos Tukano, grupos Bare, entre outros. Palavras-chave: Guaviare-Japura; Daw; transformacoes ; Abstract: The present research focuses on the indigenous populations of the linguistic family Guaviare-Japura (formerly "maku"), inhabitants of the interfluvial zones (and banks currently) of the northeastern Amazon region and focuses, on a more detailed level, on the Daw people, a small group inhabiting the vicinities of Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, AM. Through a critical bibliographic review and fieldwork carried out among the Daw between the months of October and December, 2012, certain tropes and rooted dichotomies (fundamentally, the "Bush Indian"/"River Indian" opposition) were sought to be render problematic in the academic descriptions as well as the narratives of other Indian groups and local non-Indians regarding the Guaviare-Japura, thus stressing the self-attributions and understandings of the Daw themselves about their wider context. Among the issues considered on this paper were underlined: the Daw position regarding the Protestant missionary work in their territory, observing the implications of this alliance; the negotiations between the Daw and the Tukano people, and the missionary mediation between them; the historical relations brought about by their contact with the Bare populations; the sociospatial configuration of the current (and only) settlement where all the Daw live, Warua: their inner differentiations and their strategic position in relation to other settlements and homesteads of neighboring Indian groups. Notwithstanding, an ethnography was sought to be made on the Daw movements and their presence in the town of Sao Gabriel da Cachoeira, located on the banks of the Black River opposite to the site where Daw live. By these concerns about sociospatiality and the Daw policies towards the various peoples - Indians and non- Indians - inhabiting the Black River region, it was possible to observe and discuss a series of transformations by this group's agency, however also mediated invariably by third parties - ministers, researchers, Tukano groups, Bare groups and so on.
