Representações discursivas de vítima e agressor em textos de inquéritos policiais

Abstract:
The object of investigation in this dissertation is the discursive representation of victims and perpetrators of violence in the police reports of criminal investigations. The guiding questions for this research are: a) what are the discursive representations of victims and perpetrators in the police reports of criminal investigations; b) how are the discursive representations of victims and perpetrators formed in these documents and what role do these representations play in structuring the argument of the text? Given these questions, the general objective of the research is to investigate the shaping of the discursive representations of victims and perpetrators of violence in the police reports of criminal investigations. One of the specific objectives is to analyze how the construction of representations (victim, perpetrator) contribute to create meanings in the investigative texts chosen. The research is based on the hypothesis that the linguistic choices used to form a particular representation, in this case, the discursive representation of victims and perpetrators of violence, are formed with a specific objective, in other words, to serve a specific argumentative purpose, according to the intentions of the speaker (their discursive intention) –defending, accusing, or incriminating. The research is based on a theoretical perspective of Textual Linguistics, more specifically, Textual Discourse Analysis (TDA), as proposed by Adam (2011). Within a qualitative research paradigm, this study is characterized as documentary research, which focuses on a corpus of nine investigative police reports related to crimes of violence against women. In the process of analysis, the theoretical categories used in the discursive representation are: referencing, predication, modification, spatial-temporal localization, connection and comparison. The results show that the discursive representations of victims and perpetrators of violent crimes are developed in various ways, in different documents of the investigation, depending on the perspectives (or point of view) of the sources of utterance, by an intermediary, who must attempt to reconstruct the alleged criminal act –violence against a woman. In function of the actions of language (intentions, objectives), in marked situations of utterance by a police official, a discourse is constructed of an institutionalized image by documented voices (speakers) and, as such, instituted as authorized sources of speech that construct the figure of a legalistic-police “victim”. Thus, based on the utterances of the texts analyzed (by the victims themselves, the witnesses, the accused and the deputy officer), the images or representations of the “victim” and of the “aggressor” can be considered, from the perspective of utterance, as the result of strategies of argumentation in order to promote specific discursive actions that are formed as socio-discursive, and legalistic-police. ; Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) ; Esta tese tem como objeto de investigação as representações discursivas de vítima e de agressor em textos de inquéritos policiais. As questões que norteiam a pesquisa são: a) quais as representações discursivas de vítima e de agressor em inquéritos policiais? b) como as representações discursivas de vítima e de agressor são construídas nesse documento e qual o papel que essas representações desempenham para a orientação argumentativa do texto? Diante delas, o objetivo geral da pesquisa é investigar a composição das representações discursivas de vítima e de agressor em inquéritos policiais. Como objetivo específico, analisa o modo como a composição de uma representação (vítima, agressor) contribui para a construção de sentidos nos textos dos inquéritos analisados. Parte-se da hipótese de que as escolhas linguísticas utilizadas para construir uma determinada representação, no caso, a representação discursiva de vítima e de agressor, são feitas com um determinado objetivo, isto é, em função de um determinado propósito argumentativo, de acordo com as intenções do enunciador (sua visada discursiva) – defender(-se) e/ou acusar, incriminar. A pesquisa insere-se no âmbito teórico geral da Linguística de Texto, mais especificamente, na Análise Textual dos Discursos (ATD), proposta por Adam (2011). Inserida no paradigma qualitativo de caráter descritivo, trata-se de uma pesquisa documental, cujo corpus é constituído por nove inquéritos policiais relacionados com crimes de violência praticados contra a mulher. Nos procedimentos de análise, utiliza-se as categorias teóricas da representação discursiva, como a referenciação, a predicação, a modificação, a localização espaço-temporal, a conexão e a comparação. Os resultados evidenciam que as representações discursivas de vítima e de agressor são construídas de modo diverso, nos vários documentos do inquérito, conforme as perspectivas (ou pontos de vista) das fontes enunciativas por intermédio das quais se tenta reconstituir o fato imputado como delituoso – a agressão contra uma mulher. Em função de suas ações de linguagem (visadas, objetivos), em situações enunciativas marcadas por uma delegacia de polícia, tem-se a construção discursiva de uma imagem institucionalizada por vozes (enunciadores) documentadas e, como tal, instituídas como fontes autorizadas de um dizer constitutivo da figura jurídico-policial “vítima”. Desse modo, a partir do que dizem nos textos analisados (a própria vítima, as testemunhas, os acusados e a delegada), as imagens ou representações de “vítima” e de “agressor” podem ser consideradas, enunciativamente, como o efeito de estratégias argumentativas no sentido de promover ações discursivas próprias da formação sócio-discursiva jurídico-policial.
