Abstract:
The article is based on the study of entries of names made in Polish in the books of registration of residents of Polesie Voivodeship from 1919 to 1939, which belong to the funds of the State Archive of Brest Region.The choice of Brest region as the area for conducting onomastic research is determined by the geopolitical, historical, and cultural significance of this territory. The characteristic feature of the region is its borderland position both geographically and ethnically, since Brest region is located at the junction of the Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian areas.A distinctive feature of the repertoire of names of the borderland of Belarus in the first half of the 20th century was the coexistence of three systems of naming: church-canonical Russian language, Catholic Polish language and local, determined by the peculiarities of the Belarusian language and local dialect. The subject of analysis in the article was the variety of phonetic and morphological variants of personal proper names that functioned during the period under study both among of the Orthodox and Catholic residents.The article highlights various aspects of the adaptation of Christian names to the Russian, Belarusian and Polish languages in Brest region from both diachronic and synchronous perspective.From the diachronic perspective, the presence of various variants of anthroponyms is due to the development of Old Russian and Old Polish languages, i.e. various historical processes that took place in the spheres of vocalism and consonantism: various vowels and consonants, the appearance of prosthetic and epenthetic sounds, numerous transformations in the groups of vowels and consonants.From the synchronous perspective, the article analyzes the variants of names containing the characteristic linguistic features of the Belarusian language, as well as variants of personal names, which are distinguished by dialect linguistic features.The article also explores hypocoristic and deminative versions of Christian names, identifies the most productive word-formation formants, which are reflected in the studied archival documents.Finally, the article explores the lexical, phonetic and grammatical manifestations of interlanguage interference that took place in the repertoire of names of the borderlands in the 1st half of the XX century. ; У статті проаналізовано імена, записані польською мовою в книгах реєстрації жителів Поліського воєводства з 1919 р. по 1939 р., що зберігаються у фондах Державного архіву Брестської області.Вибір Брестської області як зони для проведення ономастичних досліджень зумовлений геополітичним, історичним і культурним значенням цієї території. Характерною рисою регіону є його пограничний статус як географічно, так і етнічно, оскільки Брестська область розташована на стику білоруської, польської та української областей.Відмінною особливістю репертуару назв прикордонних областей Білорусі в першій половині ХХ ст. було співіснування трьох систем найменування: церковно-канонічної російської мови, католицької польської мови та місцевої, для якої властива взаємодія білоруської мови та діалекту. Предметом аналізу було різноманіття фонетичних та морфологічних варіантів особових імен, що функціювали в досліджуваний період як у православних, так і в католиків.У статті висвітлено різні аспекти адаптації християнських імен у російській, білоруській і польській мовах у Брестській області як у діахронії, так і в синхронії.З позицій діахронії наявність різних варіантів антропонімів пов’язана з розвитком давньоруської та старопольської мов, тобто з різними історичними процесами, що відбувалися в системі вокалізму й консонантизму: чергування голосних і приголосних, поява протетичних та епентетичних звуків та ін.У синхронії проаналізовано варіанти імен, яким властиві особливості білоруської мови, а також варіанти особових імен, що відрізняються діалектними лінгвальними особливостями.У статті проаналізовано фамільярні та пейоративні варіанти християнських імен, з’ясовано найпродуктивніші словотвірні форманти, а також вплив міжмовних контактів, активних у 1-й половині ХХ ст. для досліджуваного пограниччя, на варіантність антропонімів.
