Revista de Traducción e Interpretación; Núm. 13 - Año 2011; 209-232 ; 1139-7489 (2011) Abstract: El avance de nuestra sociedad hacia el multilingüismo, por un lado y hacia la globalización, por otro lado, plantea una serie de retos nuevos en cuya resolución las nuevas tecnologías juegan un papel fundamental. Ahora bien, dichos recursos no están disponibles ni son generados de la misma forma para todas las lenguas. Es nuestro propósito indagar precisamente sobre los recursos que la web ofrece al traductor / intérprete en las combinaciones de lenguas español-inglés; español-francés; español-árabe y español-rumano, con especial énfasis en el área de la traducción e interpretación en los servicios públicos (TISP) con el fin de conocer la realidad y la distancia entre las combinaciones español e inglés/francés y español y árabe/rumano. Pretendemos de este modo contribuir a avanzar en la creación de herramientas útiles entre estas combinaciones de lenguas llamadas de la inmigración y a disminuir el desequilibrio que ahora mismo existe. Abstract Translation, immigration languages, and online resources Carmen VALERO GARCÉS, Laura GAUTHIER, Chiraz MEGDICHE, Bianca VITALARU The progress towards multilingualism, on the one hand, and towards globalization, on the other hand, poses a number of new challenges and their resolutions depends in a great deal on the new technologies. However, these resources are not available or are not generated in the same way for all languages. It is our intention to investigate on the resources that the web offers the translator / interpreter in the language combinations Spanish-English, Spanish-French, Spanish-Arabic, and Spanish-Romanian, with particular emphasis in the area of public services interpreting and translating (PSI&T) in order to contribute to advancing the development of useful tools among these combinations of languages and reduce the imbalance that now exists.
