Abstract:
Sur la base de l’adjectif verbal ἁγήλατος (Lyc. 436), on montre que la notion de néologisme est parfaitement transposable au grec ancien. Bien que nous soyons privés du savoir lexical des locuteurs natifs, il est néanmoins possible d’établir le caractère néologique de ἁγήλατος en prenant simultanément en compte la série dérivationnelle à laquelle il appartient, le passage dans lequel il est employé et la tradition littéraire de laquelle il procède. ... : The verbal adjective ἁγήλατος (Lyc. 436) is accounted for as a neologism, a concept perfectly suitable for Ancient Greek. Although we cannot use the experience of Ancient Greek-speaking people, it is possible to prove the neological nature of ἁγήλατος, if we simultaneously take into consideration the derivational category to which it belongs, the context in which it is used and the literary tradition from which it was created. ...
