Abstract:
В данной статье рассматриваются особенности употребления имен собственных в художественном тексте, их функциональный аспект — создание подтекста за счет того, что они являются говорящими или характеризующими персонажа. Внимание уделено волшебным существам, имена которых как нельзя лучше отражают специфику книг жанра фэнтези и связывают художественный текст с целым пластом фольклорного и культурного наследия. ... : The article considers peculiarities of using proper names in the literary text as well as their functioning which consists in the creation of the implied sense. This is possible due to the fact that proper names are considered to be charactonyms, i.e. describing a character. Close attention is paid directly to the magical creatures, whose names perfectly reflect the specifics of the books of the fantasy genre and associate the artistic text with a whole layer of folk and cultural heritage. Magical creatures in the series of «Harry Potter» books, such as vampires, centaurs, werewolves, goblins, giants and ghosts possess the names that can describe them as characters but also let the reader interpret them from the cultural and historic point of view. Many of the names have connections with the biblical texts as well as pagan mythology and literature both modern and classical. Such approach helps readers to see the profundity and multi-levelness of the books. ...
