Authorship, Scholarship, & Friendship: Insights & Highlights from an International Collaborative Writing Group
In: SoTL Commons Conference (2020)
Abstract: Collaborative writing involves a myriad of logistical challenges, including learning new software tools, scheduling numerous group meetings, determining project roles, distributing the workload, and managing deadlines. These tasks are further complicated when the team of writers are in different countries, states, and time zones. This session will provide an update on the collaborative writing group that I introduced in my SoTL Commons Conference presentation in 2014. I will share the rewards and pitfalls of writing and publishing 2 journal articles and a book chapter, with a global team of teachers and scholars, in an ISSoTL International Collaborative Writing Group.
