Teaching and Learning in Plurilingual Schools: Lessons from Classrooms in Dublin 15
Abstract:
Primary school teachers working in contexts of multilingualism have used their experiences of a book project to reflect on linguistic diversity and inclusion. The research illustrates how children’s lives in a globalised society can be linked to language learning and literacy development in the primary classroom. The chapter also explores how European and Irish policies on plurilingual and pluricultural education may be realised in a practical way within schools and classrooms.
