Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to present a historiographical analysis of the set of works that investigated, from 1889 to 2014, different linguistic phenomena of the spoken Portuguese language in the state of Minas Gerais. The adopted theoretical assumptions are the studies of Historiography of Linguistics according to Altman (1998, 2012), Batista (2013), Koerner (1995, 2004), and Swiggers (2009, 2013). The corpus of analysis is made up of books, theses, and dissertations that, under different methodological approaches, set out to investigate different phenomena of the oral Portuguese in the state. Data collection took place in electronic pages of graduate programs, collections of libraries, and databases of IBICT and CAPES. The analysis of the assembled works establishes a timeline in three phases: the first, from 1889 to 1937; the second, from 1938 to 1976; and the third, from 1977 to 2014, being the last one the most fertile for language production on the oral modality of the Portuguese language. It is also observed that graduate research, especially at the Master level, is the responsible for a sharp increase in linguistic research on the subject, which took place mainly from the early years of the twenty-first century. ; O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar uma análise historiográfica do conjunto de obras que investigaram, durante o período de 1889 a 2014, diferentes fenômenos linguísticos da língua portuguesa falada no estado de Minas Gerais. Os pressupostos teóricos adotados se baseiam nos estudos de Historiografia da Linguística, como Altman (1998, 2012), Batista (2013), Koerner (1995, 2004) e Swiggers (2009, 2013). O corpus de análise está constituído por livros, dissertações e teses que, sob diferentes enfoques metodológicos, se propuseram a investigar distintos fenômenos do português oral no estado. A coleta dos dados se deu em páginas eletrônicas de programas de pós-graduação, em acervos de bibliotecas e nos bancos de dados do IBICT e da CAPES. A análise do conjunto de obras permite estabelecer uma periodização dos trabalhos em três fases (1889 a 1937; 1938 a 1976; 1977 a 2014), sendo a terceira a mais fértil para a produção linguística sobre a modalidade oral da língua portuguesa. Observa-se ainda que a pesquisa de pós-graduação, especialmente no nível de mestrado, é a responsável por um acentuado aumento na pesquisa linguística sobre o tema, o que se deu sobretudo a partir dos primeiros anos do século XXI.
