Abstract:
International audience ; Chez les Zarma, quand une famille donne sa fille en mariage, elle ne l’abandonne pas à son sort, car, si le mariage lui fait acquérir un prestige social, il la rend aussi vulnérable. Si les discours des oncles paternels précisent que désormais leur fille est à la charge de sa belle-famille, les mères classificatoires dans leurs chants lui indiquent ce qu’elle doit accepter et ce pour quoi elle peut demander de l’aide. Cette demande peut s’exprimer à travers une « fugue » chez ses parents. Ceux-ci, en l’accueillant, lui apportent protection, écoutent ses doléances, voire blâment l’époux indélicat et lui demandent réparation pour les préjudices subis, si leur fille a « fugué » pour les bonnes raisons. L’épouse finira par retourner le plus souvent chez son époux avec pour conseil d’avoir de la patience… A partir d’une enquête ethnographique, j’examinerai comment les familles prennent en charge ces conflits et cherchent à les résoudre, en évitant les acteurs extérieurs. Les discussions et la tentative de conciliation suivent des règles souples. Sur la base de normes, les faits sont qualifiés et les comportements de chacun sont définis en termes de mesure ou de démesure ; ce qui permettra de définir la réponse à donner pour résoudre le conflit.
