Apagamento da vogal postônica medial em duas variedades africanas do português ...
Gomes, Danielle Kely. - : Zenodo, 2019
Abstract: The deletion of medial post-stressed vowel, a process that leads to regularization of words with antepenultimate syllable stress word to penultimate syllable stress pattern, is an old phenomenon in Portuguese, with roots in Latin. The process is frequent in several varieties of Brazilian Portuguese (BP). However, few studies are dedicated to the description of the phenomenon in other varieties. In this paper, we propose a comparative analysis between two varieties of Portuguese marked by close coexistence with native languages: São Tomé Portuguese (STP) and Mozambique Portuguese (MP). Our proposal is to observe if, in STP and MP, the antepenultimate syllable stress words regularize to penultimate syllable stress pattern under the influence of the same constraints verified in BP, or if specific restrictions constrain STP and MP, as an effect of language contact between Portuguese and other languages that coexist with it in São Tomé and Mozambique, respectively. ... : {"references": ["Alves, Sofia dos Santos & Fernandes, Thalles Candal Reis. 2018.
