Mecanismos de persuasión en alemán y español. El comentario de opinión política

Abstract:
El propósito de este trabajo ha sido indagar en los mecanismos lingüísticos mediante los que se manifiesta la función persuasiva en las lenguas alemana y española. Dado que este objetivo resulta demasiado amplio para abarcarlo en una sola investigación y que la lingüística contrastiva, que ya ha dedicado estudios concretos a fenómenos peculiares en géneros de especialidad, todavía no ha desarrollado modelos plenamente adecuados para el análisis comparado y contrastivo de las distintas funciones del lenguaje en sus diversas manifestaciones orales y escritas, hemos optado por circunscribir nuestra pesquisa a una forma textual muy concreta: los comentarios periodísticos de opinión de temática política. Nos decantamos por este género porque representa una de las formas singulares en que un emisor desarrolla un punto de vista personal y trata de hacer a sus eventuales interlocutores (un tipo destinatario múltiple y heterogéneo) partícipes de su posicionamiento mediante la aportación de distintos tipos de argumentos, que son desplegados de forma conveniente a lo largo del texto. En nuestro estudio seguimos, fundamentalmente, los postulados de la teoría de la Argumentación (Anscombre/Ducrot 1983, Fuentes/Alcaide 2002, 2007) por lo que respecta a su modo de entender la configuración del discurso. Concebimos los textos como los productos de un proceso de construcción por el que un emisor, dotado de una capacidad metalingüística que le permite evaluar sus producciones verbales y adecuarlas a sus propósitos comunicativos (Portolés 2007b), escoge en cada momento del acto enunciativo los recursos idiomáticos de su lengua que mejor se ajustan al fin que desea alcanzar. La persuasión forma parte de las prácticas cotidianas de los hablantes (Fuentes/Alcaide 2002), hasta el punto de que autores como Anscombre y Ducrot (1983) llegan a afirmar que todo texto (hablado o escrito) posee naturaleza argumentativa. La primera fase ha sido la búsqueda de textos, la segunda fase de nuestro trabajo ha consistido en el análisis lingüístico del corpus por niveles de descripción. Los artículos del corpus han sido extraídos de cuatro periódicos de ámbito nacional de Alemania y España: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, El País y El Mundo. Nos hemos decantado por estos rotativos por tres principales razones: por un criterio de calidad editorial, por su amplia difusión en sus respectivos territorios y por ser los que, a juicio de los investigadores en ciencias de la información, ejercen una mayor influencia en el pensamiento de la población europea de habla alemana y española. La tercera fase ha consistido en la lectura y anotación de los textos del corpus. Esta tarea se realizó en dos etapas. La cuarta fase ha estado dedicada a la extracción de todas las muestras halladas de los fenómenos asociados a la función persuasiva en los textos del corpus. La quinta fase de nuestro trabajo ha consistido en el análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo de los resultados obtenidos en alemán y español. Y en la sexta fase hemos observado su frecuencia y funcionamiento en cada lengua como paso previo a su descripción paralela. El trabajo muestra la validez del modelo de análisis por niveles de descripción y también muestra la existencia de una serie de patrones repetidos que hablan a favor de considerar que hay una tradición discursiva en el entorno de este género textual. Ello, además, nos ha permitido lanzar hipótesis fundamentadas sobre la vinculación entre los diferentes fenómenos que se dan en cada uno de los planos descritos y un particular modo en que el emisor desea incidir sobre la relación entre el lector y el contenido del texto. La identificación del empleo recurrente de un rasgo lingüístico propio del ámbito morfológico, sintáctico, semántico, etc., puede ser puesto de esta manera en relación con la finalidad última del artículo de opinión: la persuasión. Para concluir nuestro estudio nos proponemos recapitular de forma sumaria los resultados obtenidos en cada una de las lenguas y hacer una comparación preliminar de los datos que arroja cada una de las partes del corpus. Si bien no era el propósito principal de este trabajo hacer un contraste exhaustivo de los mecanismos de la argumentación en este género discursivo en ambas lenguas, consideramos oportuno trazar con unas pocas pinceladas las similitudes y diferencias más relevantes entre los textos alemanes y españoles, de manera que puedan servir como punto de partida para futuras indagaciones de naturaleza más propiamente contrastiva. Seguiremos en este apartado el mismo orden en que hemos presentado las evidencias recopiladas en los capítulos IV y V. ; The purpose of this work has been to investigate the linguistic mechanisms through which the persuasive function in the German and Spanish languages is manifested. Given that this objective is too broad to encompass in a single research and that contrastive linguistics, which has already dedicated specific studies to peculiar phenomena in specialties, has not yet developed fully adequate models for the comparative and contrastive analysis of the different functions of language in its various oral and written manifestations, we have chosen to circumscribe our research to a very concrete textual form: the journalistic opinions of political thematic opinion. We chose this type because it represents one of the unique ways in which an issuer develops a personal point of view and tries to make its potential partners (a multiple and heterogeneous target type) participating in its positioning by providing different types of arguments , which are conveniently displayed throughout the text. In our study, we follow fundamentally the postulates of Argumentation theory (Anscombre / Ducrot 1983, Fuentes / Alcaide 2002, 2007) with respect to its way of understanding the configuration of discourse. We conceive the texts as the products of a construction process by which an emitter, endowed with a metalinguistic ability that allows him to evaluate his verbal productions and adapt them to his communicative purposes (Portolés 2007b), chooses at each moment of the enunciative act the idiomatic resources of your language that best fit the purpose you want to achieve. Persuasion is part of the everyday practices of the speakers (Fuentes / Alcaide 2002), to the point that authors like Anscombre and Ducrot (1983) come to affirm that every text (spoken or written) has an argumentative nature. The first phase has been the search for texts, the second phase of our work has consisted in the linguistic analysis of the corpus by levels of description. The articles of the corpus have been taken from four national newspapers in Germany and Spain: Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung, El País and El Mundo. We have opted for these presses for three main reasons: for a criterion of editorial quality, for its wide diffusion in their respective territories and for being those, in the opinion of the researchers in information sciences, exert a greater influence in the thought of the German and Spanish-speaking European population. The third phase consisted in the reading and annotation of the texts of the corpus. This task was performed in two stages. The fourth phase has been devoted to the extraction of all the samples found of the phenomena associated with the persuasive function in the texts of the corpus. The fifth phase of our work has consisted in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results obtained in German and Spanish. And in the sixth phase we have observed its frequency and functioning in each language as a step prior to its parallel description. The work shows the validity of the analysis model by levels of description and also shows the existence of a series of repeated patterns that speak in favor of considering that there is a discursive tradition in the environment of this textual genre. This has allowed us to launch informed hypotheses about the link between the different phenomena that occur in each of the planes described and a particular way in which the sender wishes to influence the relationship between the reader and the content of the text. The identification of the recurrent use of a linguistic feature characteristic of the morphological, syntactic, semantic, etc. can be put in this way in relation to the final purpose of the article of opinion: persuasion. To conclude our study we intend to summarize the results obtained in each of the languages and make a preliminary comparison of the data that each part of the corpus gives. Although it was not the main purpose of this work to make an exhaustive contrast of the mechanisms of argumentation in this discursive genre in both languages, we consider it appropriate to draw with a few brushstrokes the most relevant similarities and differences between the German and Spanish texts, so which can serve as a starting point for future inquiries of a more properly contrastive nature. We will continue in this section the same order in which we presented the evidence compiled in Chapters IV and V.
