Abstract:
Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η παρουσίαση του τρόπου με τον οποίο προσεγγίζει φιλοσοφικά ο Πλάτωνας το ζήτημα της γλώσσας, μέσα από τη μελέτη των έργων: Κρατύλος, Θεαίτητος, Σοφιστής, Φαίδρος, Ζ΄ Επιστολή. Οι βασικοί άξονες γύρω από τους οποίους δομείται η μελέτη είναι: η σχέση γλώσσας - πραγματικότητας, η σχέση γλώσσας - γνώσης, το ζήτημα της θεμελίωσης της αλήθειας και του ψεύδους και της έκφρασής τους σε επίπεδο γλώσσας και τέλος η αξία και ο ρόλος της γλώσσας στη διεξαγωγή του φιλοσοφείν. Στο πρώτο και μεγαλύτερο κεφάλαιο μελετάται και αναλύεται ο διάλογος Κρατύλος, ο οποίος πραγματεύεται αποκλειστικά το ζήτημα της γλώσσας και συγκεκριμένα τη φύση της σχέσης των ονομάτων με τα πράγματα. Στο πλαίσιο της προσπάθειας ανίχνευσης της σχέσης ονόματος - πράγματος, ο Πλάτων μελετά διεξοδικά και αξιολογεί τη γλώσσα σε επίπεδο ονομάτων, αναδεικνύοντας ζητήματα καίρια και άξια στοχασμού, τα οποία ανοίγουν νέους δρόμους για την έρευνα. Έτσι, στο τρίτο και στο τέταρτο κεφάλαιο, αντικείμενο των οποίων αποτελούν ... : The main purpose of the present dissertation is the presentation of the way Plato sees language from a philosophical perspective, as portrayed in his works: Cratylus, Theaetetus, Sophist, Phaedrus, Seventh Letter. The principle axes around which the study is developed are: the relationship between language and reality, the relationship between language and knowledge, the matter of truth and falsehood and the way those are depicted in language, and finally the value of language and its role in practicing philosophy. The first and most extended chapter is where the dialogue of Cratylus is studied and analysed. This dialogue deals exclusively with language and, more specifically, the relationship between the name and the object of reality which it names. Plato, while trying to locate and explain this relationship, studies and evaluates language at the level of names and he points out new matters worth studying, which open new paths through which investigation could be continued.
