Abstract:
: Background Pure tone and speech audiometry are basic diagnostic means for evaluation of hearing impairment and hearing system benefits. In not German native speakers especially speech audiometry is hardly possible in every case. According to the Freiburg Speech Intelligibility Test (FSIT) a Russian Speech Intelligibility Test (RSIT) has been generated for native Russian speakers living in Germany with hearing impairment. In a prospective study 10 RSIT lists each with Russian two-digit numbers and monosyllables were tested in adult and normal hearing native Russian speakers. The objectives of the study were the • evaluation of the RSIT lists regarding their phonemical and perceptual balance, • determination of speech recognition thresholds in silence (L50) for Russian numbers and monosyllables, • analysis of the reference speech recognition curves in silence for different sound pressure levels, • investigation of the test-retest reliability and • comparison of these results with the characteristics of the ...
