Abstract:
La traducción de cómics se está convirtiendo en un ámbito realmente reconocido en el seno de la Traductología, debido a la presencia cada vez más notable de este tipo textual en nuestra sociedad. A lo largo de este trabajo, se pretende llevar a cabo un análisis contrastivo multilingüe para conocer el tratamiento de ciertos aspectos relacionados con las convenciones tanto específicas como generales del cómic en la traducción de la obra francesa Astérix en Hispanie (1969) a cuatro lenguas diferentes (español, inglés, alemán e italiano). Con el fin de llegar a conclusiones congruentes, se abordarán teóricamente la traducción multimodal y las técnicas de traducción según varios autores, además de la historia del cómic, sus principales características y los elementos más destacados de cara a su traducción. La parte práctica responde a los principales objetivos de este trabajo, a saber, poner de manifiesto las diferencias idiomáticas y culturales que puedan aparecer en cada obra y mostrar cómo influye la multimodalidad en la tarea del traductor. Tras el análisis de los resultados, se observa que este profesional tiene en cuenta los distintos códigos verbales y visuales que componen el cómic y que se apoya, sobre todo, en estos últimos para realizar su labor. Finalmente, cabe destacar que tanto el origen de las lenguas meta como las técnicas de traducción empleadas desempeñan un papel determinante para confirmar la tendencia hacia la literalidad o no de las distintas versiones. ; The translation of comics is increasingly becoming a recognised discipline in the field of Translation Studies due to the growing popularity of this type of text in our society. The aim of this paper is to carry out a multilingual contrastive analysis so as to discover how some aspects related to the specific and general conventions of comics are treated in the translation of the French comic book Astérix en Hispanie (1969) into four different languages (Spanish, English, German and Italian). In order to reach consistent conclusions, multimodal translation and translation techniques will be discussed according to several authors in the theoretical frame, besides the history of comics, their main characteristics and the most significant elements as regards their translation. The practical chapter responds to the main objectives of this paper: to highlight the linguistic and cultural differences that may appear in each work and to show how multimodality influences the translator’s task. The findings of this analysis have shown that the translators take into consideration the different verbal and visual codes that constitute the comic, relying principally on the latter to carry out their work. Finally, it should be noted that the origin of the target languages and the translation techniques used play a decisive role in confirming the tendency towards the fidelity or not of the different versions.
