Abstract: This is a systematic review and meta-analysis of neural entrainment in those with language and reading disorders. The measures of interest for this review are neural measures (EEG or MEG) assessing phase coherence. Objectives: 1) Determine whether the findings demonstrate that neural entrainment is: i) Different in those with RD compared to those who are typical readers. ii) Different in those with DLD compared to those without DLD. 2) Synthesize the existing literature and highlight any gaps and future directions needed. The studies included must compare typically developing adults or children to participants with RD or DLD, must assess neural entrainment, and report original empirical findings. Five databases that have been deemed the most relevant will be searched; Web of Science, PsycInfo (ProQuest), Dissertations and Theses (ProQuest), Scopus, and PubMed.
