Abstract:
Partindo de análises que apontam o fenómeno associativo como atravessado por uma profunda crise, em grande parte derivada da opção por orientações técnico-instrumentais, em detrimento de lógicas cívicas e solidárias, e do apagamento da dimensão do político, o presente texto procura ser um contributo no sentido de compreender algumas das tendências que actualmente se consolidam no seio do exercício associativo em Portugal, a partir de um trabalho de análise sobre os sentidos dominantes que um conjunto específico de iniciativas (as Iniciativas de Desenvolvimento Local – IDL’s) conferem à sua acção. Como tese de fundo, a da ambivalência como uma das características próprias e mais marcantes do universo do associativismo de desenvolvimento local, reactualizando tensões dialécticas centrais ao paradigma da modernidade ocidental. ; This text starts from analyses that point to the deep crisis of associationalism, a crisis that, to a great extent, derives from the option for techno-instrumental orientations, to the detriment of civic and solidarity logics, as well as from the weakening of the political dimension. It seeks to give a contribution to the understanding of some of the trends that are currently becoming established within associationalism in Portugal, based on an analysis of the dominant meanings given to it by a number of specific initiatives (Local Development Initiatives – LDI). The underlying thesis points to ambivalence as one of the most distinctive features of local development associations, re-actualizing dialectical tensions that are at the centre of the paradigm of western modernity.
