Abstract: This study was conducted to help enhance language proficiency in speaking skill for Thai learners who are unable to speak English even they have been studying English for a long time. The real English of public speaking was examined. The paper illustrates four-word lexical chunks extracted from TED Talks. It could be said that the TED corpus, containing 500,000 words, is investigated by the AntConc application for word frequency classification. The study intends to identify the patterns of language usage in the aspects of structural and functional taxonomy. The corpus technique helps reveal the real English from real–life conversation that can be beneficially used by a teacher. The paper is meant to be the beginning of a discussion of how word frequency could be developed as the effective material, or applied for a lexical approach, to help enhance the accurate and fluent English speaking of language learners. ...
