Abstract: There are now several fonts with have been optimised with the goal to make it easier for individuals with dyslexia to read, however, there are very few empirical tests of whether fonts actually improve word identification performance. We adapt a standard task involving word identification and lexical processing, the lexical decision task in order to test whether decisions on words presented in a specialised dyslexia font are processed faster and more accurately than words presented in a standard font. We will collect data from both participants that identify as having dyslexia and participants who identify as typical readers. ...
