Reorganização dos parâmetros temporais da fala após treinamento de desempenho comunicativo oral

Abstract:
Dissertação (mestrado)—Universidade de Brasília, Faculdade de Ceilândia, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências da Reabilitação, 2021. ; Componentes da organização temporal da fala (OTF) podem agir como pistas acústicas que informam e guiam a compreensão. Dentre estes efeitos, pode-se citar a sinalização de problemas de produção da fala, a informação a respeito do nível de conhecimento do falante sobre um tema e o fornecimento de pistas facilitadoras da compreensão da mensagem transmitida. Os componentes da OTF podem ser modificados pelo treinamento fonoaudiológico, trazendo benefícios para o desempenho comunicativo oral. Objetivo: O objetivo geral do estudo é verificar a reorganização dos parâmetros temporais da fala de estudantes de nível superior após um treinamento de aprimoramento do desempenho comunicativo oral. Método: O grupo experimental (GE) foi composto por 20 adultos do sexo masculino, entre 18 e 35 anos de idade, que passaram por treinamento de desempenho comunicativo oral. O grupo controle (GC) foi composto por 21 adultos do sexo masculino entre 18 e 40 anos de idade. Foram realizadas gravações em áudio dos participantes nas condições inicial e final. Os enunciados foram submetidos à análise acústica e perceptivo-auditiva. A análise acústica consistiu na avaliação das pausas, velocidade de fala, fluência de fala, grupo acentual e de contornos melódicos dos enunciados emitidos nas condições inicial e final pelos grupos GE e GC. 23 juízes leigos realizaram a análise perceptivo-auditiva, na qual deveriam julgar o grau de certeza de 82 enunciados (41 na condição inicial e 41 na condição final). Os juízes desconheciam as condições dos enunciados e realizaram o julgamento de forma cega. 1.886 respostas foram computadas. Resultados: O GE na condição final se diferenciou dos demais grupos (GCi, GCf e GEi) e obteve as maiores notas na análise perceptivo-auditiva. Variáveis como a taxa de articulação de sílabas, o número de palavras emitidas por minuto e a variação de F0 foram distintas no GE na condição final. A análise dos enunciados que obtiveram as maiores e as menores notas nas avaliações perceptivo-auditivas indicou tendências de relações entre as variáveis de organização temporal da fala e o nível de certeza expresso pelos sujeitos. Conclusão: O treinamento de desempenho comunicativo oral aumentou o nível de certeza da fala, conforme resultados da análise perceptivo-auditiva realizada por juízes leigos. Os achados auxiliam o direcionamento de intervenções clínicas que abordam a OTF visando o aumento do nível de certeza da fala. ; Temporal structure of speech features can act as acoustic cues that inform and guide listener’s comprehension. Such effects include signaling speech production problems and cues to the listeners such as speakers’ level of certainty and message’s comprehension enhancement. Temporal structure of speech features can be modified by speech training, benefiting oral communication performance. Purpose: The general purpose of this study is to verify the reorganization of temporal structure of speech of college students after a communicative oral skills training. Methods: The experimental group (EG) was formed by 20 males aged between 18 and 35 years old who went through a communicative oral skills training. The control group (CG) consisted of 21 males aged between 18 and 40 years old. Audio recordings of the participants were made on the initial and final conditions. The utterances were submitted to acoustic analysis and auditory-perceptual analysis. The acoustic analysis verified the pauses, speech rate, speech fluency, accent phrases and melodic contours in the utterances produced by EG and CG both in the initial and final condition. 23 lay judges judged the 82 utterances, being 41 on the initial condition and 41 on the final condition. The judges were not aware of the utterances’ conditions and judged them blindly. 1.886 answers were computed. Results: The EG on the final condition set itself apart from the other groups (CGi, CGf and EGi) and had the best ratings on the auditory-perceptual analysis. Variables such as syllable articulation rate, words per minute and F0 variation were distinct on the EG on the final condition. The analysis of the utterances that had the higher and lower ratings on the auditory-perceptual analysis showed tendencies regarding the relation between the temporal structure of speech and the judgment of certainty. Conclusion: The communicative oral skills training improved the rating of certainty on the auditory-perceptual analysis carried out by lay judges. Findings help clinicians set goals for the use of temporal structure of speech features on speech interventions aiming at the improvement of certainty.
