Abstract:
International audience ; We consider the electronic written form of the language (distant and disembodied) compared to its oral form (corporately registered). We establish in what way the exchange in absentia (through the exchange of emails) promotes conflicts and dissonances, unlike the exchange in praesentia which promotes the successful co-construction of interpersonal relationships. Our corpus, made up of e-mail exchanges with several recipients and in cc between different members of a university is questioned from the angle of the linguistic analysis of interactions: openings and closings; Positioning taxemes and relationship softeners or hardeners (Brown and Levinson 1987; Kerbrat-Orecchioni 1992). We cross the linguistic analysis of verbal violence (Auger et al. 2008; Fracchiolla et al. 2013; Rey et al. 2014) with analysis in speech acts (Austin, 1962; Searle, 1969; Romain and Lorenzi, 2013; Fracchiolla and Romain, 2013) and that of “argumentative and aggressive rhetoric” according to the links it operates with verbal violence (Moïse and Romain 2011). We ask there the question of places and their contextualization but also that of “access to others” via mirror neurons (Rizzolatti & Sinegaglia 2008) or oxytocin (Seltzer 2012) which tend to question “interactional” relevance "And" multimodal "digital writing.Our hypothesis is that electronic exchanges exacerbate misunderstandings and tensions, all the more when they take place against a backdrop of disagreement or between individuals with a complicated interactional past. They would then contribute to deteriorating interpersonal relationships. The second is that the exchange of institutional emails in cc would be conducive to the confusion of spaces, the strengthening of statutory conflicts (Orlikowski 1996) by a specific focus on the subject of the conflict, etc. If e-mail does not seem to favor an egalitarian Marcoccia (2005) relationship, it allows a less distant and familiar relationship (Angell & Heslop 1994) conducive to the exacerbation of conflicts between individuals. We finally observe that the procedures of linguistic politeness attenuate throughout the writing rounds even though recent studies show how politeness would be a “key to the social bond” (Guéguen 2008) but also mood and performance at work (Park 2008). We thus show how the question of territorial crossing puts the defense system into action with a potential aggression in relation to the non respect of a separation of public / private and time spaces (Fracchiolla 2013). ; Nous considérons la forme écrite électronique de la langue (distante et désincarnée) par rapport à sa forme orale (inscrite corporellement). Nous établissons en quoi l’échange in absentia (à travers l’échange de courriels) favorise les conflits et les dissonances au contraire de l’échange in praesentia qui favorise la co-construction réussie des relations interpersonnelles. Notre corpus, constitué d'échanges de courriels à plusieurs destinataires et en cc entre différents membres d'une université est questionné sous l’angle de l’analyse linguistique des interactions : ouvertures et clôtures ; taxèmes de positionnement et adoucisseurs ou durcisseurs de la relation (Brown et Levinson 1987 ; Kerbrat-Orecchioni 1992). Nous croisons l’analyse linguistique de la violence verbale (Auger et al. 2008 ; Fracchiolla et al. 2013 ; Rey et al. 2014) avec l’analyse en actes de langage (Austin, 1962 ; Searle, 1969 ; Romain et Lorenzi, 2013 ; Fracchiolla et Romain, 2013) et celle de la « rhétorique argumentative et agressive » en fonction des liens qu’elle opère avec la violence verbale (Moïse et Romain 2011). Nous y posons la question des places et de leur contextualisation mais aussi celle de « l’accès à autrui » via les neurones miroirs (Rizzolatti & Sinegaglia 2008) ou l’ocytocine (Seltzer 2012) qui tendent à remettre en cause la pertinence « interactionnelle » et « multimodale » de l'écrit numérique.Notre hypothèse est que les échanges électroniques exacerbent les malentendus et tensions, d'autant plus lorsqu'ils ont lieu sur fond de mésentente ou entre des individus ayant un passé interactionnel compliqué. Ils contribueraient alors à détériorer les relations interpersonnelles. La seconde est que les échanges de mails institutionnels en cc seraient propices à la confusion des espaces, au renforcement des conflits statutaires (Orlikowski 1996) par un accent spécifique mis sur l’objet du conflit, etc. Si le mail ne semble pas favoriser une relation égalitaire Marcoccia (2005), il permet une relation moins distante et familière (Angell & Heslop 1994) propice à l’exacerbation des conflits entre individus. Nous observons enfin que les procédés de politesse linguistique s’atténuent tout au long des tours d’écriture alors même que des études récentes montrent combien la politesse serait une « clé du lien social » (Guéguen 2008) mais aussi de l’humeur et des performances au travail (Park 2008). Nous montrons ainsi comment la question du franchissement territorial met en action le système de défense à une agression potentielle par rapport au non respect d'une séparation des espaces public/privé et temps (Fracchiolla 2013).
