Abstract: L’évaluation des apprentissages scolaires est actuellement en mutation. Si la distinction entre l’évaluation sommative et l’évaluation formative introduite par Scriven (1967) demeure utile, les approches et les procédés d’évaluation se sont considérablement diversifiés. Dans cet article, nous accordons une attention particulière à trois formes d’évaluation formative centrées sur les élèves qui sont à risque d’affronter des difficultés dans leurs premiers apprentissages de la lecture : le dépistage précoce, le dépistage continu et l’analyse approfondie des difficultés en lecture. Nous relevons d’abord ce que ces procédés d’évaluation ont en commun. Puis, nous décrivons les caractéristiques distinctives de chaque procédé. Enfin, nous discutons les conséquences de la mise en œuvre de ces procédés d’évaluation sur les décisions en milieu scolaire. ; The assessment of academic learning has been undergoing important changes in recent years. Although the distinction between summative and formative assessment introduced by Scriven (1967) is still useful, evaluation approaches and procedures are now more diversified. In this paper, we pay special attention to three forms of formative assessment centered on children who are at risk of reading disabilities: early screening, continuous screening, and diagnostic assessment. We first describe what these assessment procedures have in common. Then, we highlight the distinctive features of each procedure. Finally, we discuss the consequences of implementing these assessment procedures on decision-making in school settings.
