41	Estrategias de desarrollo del español como segunda lengua para estudiantes indígenas universitarios

	Abstract: Deficiency of Spanish competence of students learning Spanish has been studied in writing. Álvarez (2004) and Swiggers (2002) have made studies at morphological, syntactic, semantic, and orthographic levels. Oquendo (2006, 2009, 2011) has suggested that this deficiency is perhaps due to the way Spanish has been taught in indigenous schools, i.e., Spanish has been taught as a first language, and no attention has been paid to writing and oral production of verbs. This has also happened in those schools where Bilingual Intercultural Education (EIB, in Spanish) is offered. One of the conclusions from the First Congress of Indigenous Students at the University of Los Andes (2011) was that the lack of communicative competence of Spanish is one the key factors of education dropout. The objective of this paper is, then, to propose some strategies for verb acquisition in Spanish as a second language (EDVEL2, in Spanish) from an anthropological and sociolinguistic point of view. Then, a creative cognitive model was designed. A diagnostic instrument was applied to assess Spanish oral and written competence. The instrument was based on the sociolinguistic situation of the university indigenous student and considered the following aspects: (1) Spanish variety mostly used by the study participant; (2) Tempo of Speech; (3) Code Switching; (4) Phonetic, Grammatical, and Lexical Interferences; and (5) Transference. ; La deficiencia de la competencia en el español en los estudiantes indígenas se ha examinado sólo en la escritura: nivel morfosintáctico, semántico y ortográfico, tal como lo demostró Álvarez (2004) y Swiggers (2002). Por otra parte, Oquendo (2006, 2009, 2011) ha planteado que esta deficiencia obedece a que la enseñanza del español en las escuelas indígenas, y aún en las que están inmersas en el EIB, se dicta como si esta fuese su lengua materna sin atender el desarrollo verbal oral y escrito. En el primer Congreso de estudiantes indígenas universitarios de la ULA (2011), ellos también concluyeron que entre uno de los factores que ha determinado su deserción escolar está su incompetencia comunicativa del español. El propósito de este artículo es plantear estrategias para el desarrollo verbal del español como segunda lengua (EDVEL2), desde una perspectiva antroposociolingüística a través de un modelo cognitivo-creativo, partiendo de un diagnóstico de la competencia oral y escrita del español orientado por la situación sociolingüística del estudiante universitario indígena, se considerarán: 1) variedad dialectal del español del cual él es exponente, 2) Tempo de habla, 3) Cambio de código, 4) Interferencias: fonetológicas, gramatical, lexical. 5) Transferencia.
