O Cinema na aula de inglês: a utilização de filmes em contexto de sala de aula
Abstract: Relatório de atividade profissional de mestrado em Língua, Literatura e Cultura Inglesas ; Na presente dissertação pretendo refletir sobre a importância da utilização do filme no contexto da sala de aula, especificamente na aprendizagem da língua Inglesa, no âmbito do ensino secundário. Procurei desenvolver uma metodologia de ensino-aprendizagem variada, preconizando atividades adequadas a diferentes estilos de aprendizagem, com o recurso a diferentes estratégias e materiais variados, em que se justifica a utilização do filme em pleno. A consecução de tarefas aliadas ao visionamento de filmes, partes de um filme, um trailer ou mesmo uma curta-metragem visou não só o envolvimento pessoal e motivação do aluno, desenvolvendo positivamente a atitude do mesmo face ao processo de ensino-aprendizagem, mas também desenvolver as suas competências linguísticas e culturais, com a criação e/ou análise de situações de comunicação apelativas e retiradas de um contexto real e autêntico. Acresce ainda a tentativa de incutir nos alunos o gosto pelo cinema, o interesse pela sua história e pelos truques que fazem a magia desta sétima arte, fazendo deles espectadores críticos e assíduos das salas de cinema. Após uma breve reflexão teórica, esta dissertação apresenta os resultados do trabalho desenvolvido em contexto de sala de aula, incluindo a aplicação de um inquérito em que os discentes opinam sobre o tema, assim como o tipo de atividades levadas a cabo na aula de Inglês, e os efeitos surtidos pela utilização deste meio audiovisual na aprendizagem da língua estrangeira. ; The goal of this thesis is to reflect on the importance of using the film in the English classroom, specifically at secondary education level. It is aimed at developing a varied methodology of teaching and learning, recommending suitable activities to different learning styles, the use of different strategies and various materials, which fully justify the use of the film. The definition of tasks allied to watching films, parts of a movie, a trailer or even a short film, pursued the personal involvement and student motivation, developing the students’ positive attitude towards the process of teaching education, and were also meant to develop their linguistic and cultural competence, with the creation and / or analysis of attractive situations of communication, taken from a real and authentic context. Furthermore, there’s the attempt to get the students more interested about cinema, its history and its magic, helping them to be critical viewers and regular cinemas goers. After a brief theoretical discussion, this paper presents the results of the work undertaken in the context of the classroom, including the application of a survey in which students give their opinion on the subject, as well as the type of activities carried out in English class, and the effects of using this audiovisual medium in foreign language learning.
