Abstract:
Aquest treball ofereix una anàlisi de la novaparla, llengua ideada a partir de l'anglès per l'autor britànic George Orwell a la seva obra distòpica 1984, les característiques de la qual comprenen la simplificació gramatical, la reducció del vocabulari i la creació de noves paraules amb una gran càrrega ideològica. La finalitat d'aquest nou idioma, creat pel règim totalitari que domina una part del món a la novel·la, és aconseguir reduir la capacitat de pensament de la població i fer-lo servir com un instrument de control de masses per a destruir qualsevol concepte que vagi en contra dels ideals del govern. Així doncs, d'una banda, en aquest treball s'exposa el funcionament de la novaparla, s'exploren els seus orígens en algunes llengües artificials que inspiraren l'autor i s'analitza des de les teories lingüístiques en què es basa, i d'altra banda se'n comparen diferents traduccions al castellà, català, francès i alemany per a observar les diverses solucions que es poden aportar per a resoldre un mateix problema de traducció. ; Este trabajo ofrece un análisis de la neolengua, lengua ideada a partir del inglés por el autor británico George Orwell en su obra distópica 1984, cuyas características comprenden la simplificación gramatical, la reducción del vocabulario y la creación de nuevas palabras con una gran carga ideológica. El fin de este nuevo idioma, creado por el régimen totalitario que domina parte del mundo en la novela, es lograr limitar la capacidad de pensamiento de la población y usarlo como un instrumento de control de masas para destruir cualquier concepto que vaya en contra de los ideales del gobierno. Así pues, por una parte, en este trabajo se expone el funcionamiento de la neolengua, se exploran sus orígenes en algunas lenguas artificiales que inspiraron al autor y se analiza desde las teorías lingüísticas en las que se basa, y por otra parte se comparan distintas traducciones de la lengua al castellano, catalán, francés y alemán para observar las distintas soluciones que se pueden aportar frente a un mismo problema de traducción. ; This project offers an analysis of Newspeak, the invented language created from English by the British author George Orwell in his dystopic novel 1984, the characteristics of which include grammar simplification, the reduction of vocabulary and the creation of new words with a strong ideological meaning. The aim of this new language, created by the totalitarian regime controlling part of the world in the novel, is to get to reduce the ability of thought of its population and use it as an instrument of mass control to destroy any concept that betrays the ideals of the government. Thus, on the one hand in this project the traits of Newspeak are explained, its origins are found in the artificial languages which inspired the author and it is analysed from the linguistic theories which it is based on. On the other hand, various translations of its translations into Spanish, Catalan, French and German are compared to notice the different translations that can be offered to solve the same translation problem.
