Abstract:
National audience ; Ce chapitre expose un ensemble de travaux cherchant à mieux comprendre le mécanisme de production d'orthographe lexicale chez l'enfant. On sait que l'enfant débutant écrit le plus souvent de façon analytique, en appliquant ce qu'il sait des liens entre les sons élémentaires de la langue et les lettres. Cependant, la complexité des relations phonèmes-graphèmes (dans les langues peu transparentes comme le français) rend rapidement nécessaire l'utilisation d'autres mécanismes pour choisir la forme écrite des mots. Des études de plus en plus nombreuses révèlent la complexité de ces mécanismes et des connaissances qu'ils mobilisent. Chaque partie de ce chapitre présente les connaissances actuelles concernant la mobilisation d'un certain type de connaissances lors de la production écrite de mots. La première partie est un rappel de l'essentiel sur la mobilisation des connaissances phonèmes-graphèmes. La seconde partie traite de la prise en compte des informations morphologiques. La troisième partie aborde la mobilisation de connaissances orthographiques lexicales permettant d'écrire un mot par analogie à un autre. Enfin, le chapitre se termine sur l'exposé de recherches cherchant à déterminer ce qui, au niveau cognitif, conditionne la mémorisation de l'orthographe d'un mot lu.
