Abstract:
Ο τίτλος της εργασίας είναι «Γλωσσικοί στόχοι στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση: Τα Αγγλικά ως ξένη γλώσσα διδασκαλίας στην Ελλάδα και τη Γαλλία». Ο κεντρικός άξονας της εργασίας σχετίζεται με τους τρεις γλωσσικούς στόχους που θέτει η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, αναφορικά με το φαινόμενο της πολυγλωσσίας στην Ευρώπη: 1) Η σημασία της εκπαίδευσης 2) Η διά βίου μάθηση ξένων γλωσσών και 3) Η γνώση δύο ξένων γλωσσών, εκτός από τη μητρική. Βασισμένοι σε στατιστικά στοιχεία και σχετικές έρευνες, διερευνάται κατά πόσο μέχρι σήμερα η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή έχει πραγματοποιήσει τον στόχο της «Όλοι οι πολίτες στην Ε.Ε πρέπει να έχουν αναπτύξει γλωσσικές δεξιότητες σε τουλάχιστον δύο γλώσσες». Ένα μέρος της εργασίας αναφέρεται στην ξένη γλώσσα που έχει τους περισσότερους ομιλητές στην Ε.Ε. Όπως αποδεικνύεται από σχετικές έρευνες, τα αγγλικά είναι η πιο ευρέως διαδεδομένη ξένη γλώσσα μέσα στην Ε.Ε. Επιπρόσθετα, παραθέτονται οι λόγοι ανάδειξής της ως Lingua Franca και επιλογής της γλώσσας αυτής τόσο από τους πολίτες στην Ε.Ε, όσο και από τους ... : The central axis of the essay is associated with the three linguistic objectives set by the European Commission, concerning the phenomenon of multilingualism in Europe: 1) The importance of education 2) Lifelong learning of foreign languages and 3) The knowledge of two foreign languages, other than the mother tongue. Based on statistics and relevant research, it is explored how far the European Commission has attained its goal "All citizens in the EU should have developed language skills in at least two languages." Part of the work denotes that English is the most widespread foreign language in the EU. In addition, a series of reasons are listed to declare it as Lingua Franca and justify the selection of the language by both the citizens of the EU, and the students in education. Education in the EU is the only enforcer that could accomplish the linguistic objectives set by the European Commission.
