Abstract:
As a tool for learning about the world around us, language reflects various processes that trigger a number of linguistic trends. Gender issues are also closely related to the topic of feminism. One of the goals of feminist theory is the development of language in terms of conscious rethinking of language norms that will adequately and fully represent women. The use of femininitives in many styles of speech is becoming more common, although there are still a number of professions and positions in the Ukrainian language that continue to be named with masculine forms, despite the fact that women master various professions and hold high positions. The use of femininitives in scientific and official business styles is still not regulated by regulations. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian spelling of 2019 provides models for constructing words to denote the female sex, but does not contain the concept of "femininitives" and does not provide recommendations for their use at all levels of language.
