Abstract:
La Lozana andaluza describes the story of a gifted prostitute. Whose adventures occur in Rome before the Sack of 1527. The writer, an Andalusian priest, fills his text with biblical references. As the purpose of his Retrato gives rise to debate and is valued according to its inappropriateness to the Christian doctrine, we study the role of the biblical intertextuality in the determination of this purpose. Indeed, the biblical hypotext presents here its traditional function as an auctoritas but it also constitutes a favored tool of linguistic games, a source of comic effects, and supplies the framework of the Retrato. Consequently, we highlight first some evidences that make an orthodox interpretation possible, and later some dissident tendencies that cross the story. ; La Lozana andaluza nos cuenta la historia de una prostituta en la cumbre de su arte cuyas andanzas tienen lugar en la Roma que precede el Saqueo de 1527. El autor, presbítero andaluz, esmalta su texto con referencias a las Santas Escrituras. En la medida en que la finalidad del Retrato no suscita unanimidad y se valora en términos de (in)adecuación con la doctrina cristiana, quisiéramos argumentar sobre el papel desempeñado por la intertextualidad bíblica en la determinación de dicha finalidad. En efecto, el hipotexto bíblico aquí no sólo ejerce su tradicional función de auctoritas sino que también constituye un instrumento privilegiado de los juegos lingüísticos, actúa como fuente de comicidad, y proporciona al Retrato un armazón narrativo. Así ponemos primero de manifiesto ciertos indicios que potencian una lectura de este texto como obra ortodoxa, antes de luego contrastarlos con las tendencias disidentes más significativas que cruzan el relato.
