Abstract:
This article examines a strategy in the racist discourse in the Brazilian public sphere. The accusation launched by advocates of the status quo or by people who criticize affirmative action policies which benefit black people that such policies are a type of reverse racismo is examined. Based on Critical Discourse Analysis, it focuses on racismo, anti-racism, the link between racism and democracy, the implications of the fight against racism and the relationship between racism and discourse. It investigates how discursive aspects are used in diferent ways by both antagonistic discourses in order to defend one’s perspective. ; Este artículo examina una estrategia que caracteriza el discurso racista en la esfera pública en Brasil. Una acusación lanzada por defensores del status quo o por personas que critican la acción afirmativa dirigida a los negros de que tales políticas son un tipo de racismo inverso é considerada. Basado em la Análisis Crítica del Discurso, investigamos el racismo, las formas de afrontarlo, la relación racismo y democracia, racismo y discurso y las implicaciones de la lucha contra el racismo. Se nota cómo los aspectos discursivos son utilizados de manera distinta por ambos discursos antagónicos. ; Este artigo examina uma estratégia que caracteriza o discurso racista na esfera pública no Brasil. Acusação lançada por defensores do status quo ou por pessoas que criticam políticas de ação afirmativa voltadas para negros de que tais políticas são um tipo de racismo reverso é considerada à luz dos estudos sobre raça e racismo. Por meio da Análise de Discurso Crítica, investiga-se o racismo, formas de enfrentá-lo, a relação racismo e democracia, as implicações do combate ao racismo e a relação racismo e discurso. Nota-se como aspectos discursivos são usados distintamente para defender a própria perspectiva, seja racista ou antirracista.
