Принята к печати: 28.09.2020. ; В статье осуществляется лингвистический анализ абстрактных существительных, входящих в лексико-семантическое поле «Безвозмездная помощь нуждающимся» и обозначающих ситуацию благотворительной деятельности в целом, — благотворительность, донорство, меценатство и филантропия. Все они являются синонимами, в словарных дефинициях определяются друг через друга и часто употребляются как абсолютные эквиваленты, что препятствует четкой терминологизации языка благотворительности и осложняет обоснование правовой базы этой деятельности. Цель автора настоящей работы — по возможности четко разграничить эти лексемы, с помощью исторических и толковых словарей русского языка, словарей русских синонимов, а также исследовательских инструментов «Национального корпуса русского языка» установив их смысловой объем, контекстную сочетаемость и условия текстового функционирования. Автор приходит к выводу, что центральную, ядерную позицию в структуре лексико-семантического поля «Безвозмездная помощь нуждающимся» занимает исконно русское и имеющее высокую частотность слово благотворительность, которое обозначает любую безвозмездную помощь и наделяется полярными коннотациями — и положительными, и отрицательными. Остальные термины занимают периферийное положение — или в силу более узкого значения (меценатство), или за счет ограниченной сферы употребления — преимущественно в официально-деловой сфере (филантропия, донорство). Частотность лексем, называющих благотворительную деятельность, увеличивается в периоды социальной и экономической стабильности, налаживания международных связей — и идет на спад, когда общество вынуждено бороться с серьезными неприятностями. Яркий всплеск употребительности лексики благотворительности наблюдается в российском медиапространстве с середины 1980–1990-х гг. и нарастает до наших дней — в связи с международной тенденцией к актуализации благотворительной деятельности и модой на социальную ответственность. ; This paper provides a linguistic analysis of abstract nouns belonging to the lexicalsemantic field “Gratuitous Assistance to the Needy” and denoting the situation of charitable activities in general — благотворительность, донорство, меценатство, and филантропия. All of them are synonyms; they are defined through each other in dictionary entries and are often used as absolute equivalents. This impedes uncontradictory terminologisation of the language of charity and complicates the justification of the legal framework for this activity. The author aims to distinguish these words by using historical and explanatory dictionaries of the Russian language, dictionaries of synonyms of the Russian language, and The National Corpus of the Russian Language. This helps to determine the semantic scope, context compatibility, and conditions of the textual functioning of these words. The author concludes that the core position in the structure of the lexical-semantic field “Gratuitous Assistance to the Needy” is occupied by the originally Russian word благотворительность, which has a high usage frequency, denotes any gratuitous assistance, and has polar connotations, both positive and negative. Other terms occupy the periphery — either because of a narrower meaning (меценатство), or due to a limited scope of use (филантропия, донорство). The frequency of lexemes that refer to charitable activities increases during periods of social and economic stability, the establishment of better international relations, and decreases when society is forced to deal with serious problems. The intensive growth in the use of these words has been observed in the Russian media space since the mid-1980s and is still growing, which occurs due to the international actualisation of charitable activities and social responsibility trend. ; This study is part of the preparation of the “The First Glossary of Russian Charity The Language of Good Deeds for the Centre for Research on Philanthropy and Social Business Programmes of the InEU, Ural Federal University, and the “Smart Environment” Business Foundation.
