Abstract:
Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία αφορά τις τεχνολογίες καταστολής ηχητικού θορύβου, γνωστές και ως αλγόριθμοι βελτίωσης ομιλίας, στις σύγχρονες τηλεπικοινωνίες. Εισαγωγικά, περιγράφονται οι λόγοι που καθιστούν αναγκαία την εξέλιξη τέτοιου είδους συστημάτων, καθώς και οι προκλήσεις στην επίλυση του συγκεκριμένου προβλήματος, που οφείλονται στις φυσικές ιδιότητες του ήχου. Παράλληλα, γίνεται αναφορά στην τεράστια διείσδυση τηλεπικοινωνιακών μέσων και λογισμικού στη σημερινή κοινωνία, όχι μόνο για την επικοινωνία μεταξύ ανθρώπων, αλλά και για την επικοινωνία με ένα πλήθος έξυπνων συσκευών, που ενσωματώνουν τεχνολογίες αυτόματης φωνητικής αναγνώρισης. Στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο, δίνεται ένας ορισμός της έννοιας του θορύβου και αναλύονται οι διαφορετικές μορφές που μπορεί να πάρει στις τηλεπικοινωνίες. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στη μονοκαναλική καταστολή προσθετικού θορύβου, με σκοπό τη βελτίωση της κατανοησιμότητας του προφορικού λόγου. Ακολουθεί μια σύντομη επισκόπηση των πιο σημαντικών τεχνικών που έχουν εφαρμοστεί τις ... : The present thesis, focuses on noise suppression systems in modern telecommunications, also known as speech enhancement algorithms. In the introduction, the reasons that make such systems necessary are presented, along with the challenges in solving this task, due to the natural properties of sound. In combination with the wide spread of telecommunication hardware and software, speech enhancement not only affects communications among people, but also the interaction with a growing number of smart devices, that incorporate automatic speech recognition capabilities. In the first chapter, a definition of communication noise is presented and its different forms examined. With emphasis on single-channel additive noise suppression, an overview of the most important speech enhancement algorithms of the past few decades is presented.
