Cultural Research in the Tanzanian Rift Valley: Memories, methods, motivations, and materials ...
Mous, Maarten. - : Zenodo, 2021
Abstract: The presentation goes through the research history in the Tanzanian Rift valley discussing the motivations and field work circumstances of the individual researchers through times (1896-now), examining what they have produced and wondering how that has been received by the communities in Tanzania and in the West. The main purpose is to prepare for a discussion about the way forward for the Rift Valley Network. I hope the audience will forgive me for a slight bias towards Iraqw and linguistics. ... : Note: This talk has not gone through a process of peer review, and findings should therefore be treated as preliminary and subject to change.
