Abstract:
Ο Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) υπήρξε ένας από τους πλέον διορατικούς εκφραστές της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας κατά την ταραγμένη περίοδο της νεωτερικότητας. Η πολυσχιδής συγγραφική του συγκομιδή, η ενασχόλησή του με τη γλώσσα και την τέχνη, την ιστορία και τις τεχνολογικές εξελίξεις ανήκουν, αναμφίβολα, στις διαυγέστερες απόπειρες ψηλάφησης του ατομικού και κοινωνικού βιώματος μέχρι τις μέρες μας. Η παρούσα εργασία στρέφεται κυρίως στην ιδιότυπη γλωσσοφιλοσοφία του στοχαστή, καθώς και στην εκ μέρους του πρόσληψη ενός αριθμού σημαντικών λογοτεχνικών έργων του 19ου και 20ου αιώνα. Καταφάσκοντας –στον βαθμό που μας επιτρέπεται στα πλαίσια μιας ακαδημαϊκής εργασίας– στις μεθοδολογικές προτροπές του Benjamin, θα επιχειρήσουμε να ακολουθήσουμε τις σκέψεις του ίδιου σχετικά με τη μαγεία της γλώσσας, την οντολογική διάσταση της μεταφραστικής πρακτικής, αλλά και το διανοητικό εκτόπισμα συγγραφέων όπως ο Kafka, ο Leskov και ο Baudelaire. ... : Walter Benjamin (1892-1940) was one of the most insightful exponents of human experience during the turbulent period of modernity. His diverse writings, his preoccupation with language and art, history and technological developments belong, undoubtedly, to the clearest attempts at grasping the individual and social experience even to this day. The present thesis focuses primarily on the original linguistic philosophy of the thinker, as well as on his interpretation of a number of important literary works of the 19th and 20th centuries. Following Benjamin's methodological exhortations –as far as the process of approaching an academic study allows us–, we will try to trace his thoughts on the magic of language, the ontological dimension of translation practice, but also the intellectual output of writers such as Kafka, Leskov and Baudelaire. ...
