Abstract:
Das phonologische Gedächtnis bei Kindern von 3 bis 6 Jahren ist zentral für Lernprozesse, für die kognitive und sprachliche Entwicklung und eine wichtige Vorläuferfähigkeit für spätere schriftsprachliche und rechnerische Fertigkeiten. Eine frühzeitige Identifikation von Defiziten im phonologischen Gedächtnis ist daher grundlegend und erfordert Aufgaben mit hoher psychometrischer Qualität, die der Erfahrungswelt junger Kinder entsprechen. Ziel vorliegender Untersuchung war, einen Itempool mit neuartigem phonologischen Material in Form einer Nachsprechaufgabe mit Kunstwörtern zu konstruieren, welche hinsichtlich der Eignung für ein allgemeines Entwicklungstestverfahren einer Gedächtnisaufgabe mit vertrautem Material gegenübergestellt wurde. Die Analysestichprobe umfasste N = 58 Kinder im Alter von 3;1 bis 5;5 Jahren. Diese wurden randomisiert einem von zwei Itemsets (n1 = 31, n2 = 27) mit jeweils 20 konstruierten 2- bis 6-silbigen Kunstwörtern zugeteilt, bei gemeinsamer Anwendung von etablierten Ziffernfolgen sowie konstruktfernen Aufgaben aus dem Wiener Entwicklungstest. Psychometrische Analysen der Itemsets und diverser Bewertungsmodi mittels probabilistischer und klassischer Methoden wurden angewandt. Eine Itemselektion eines Itemsets (bei n1) resultierte in 12 Items mit weitgehender Gültigkeit des Rasch-Modells, guter Auswertungsobjektivität, hoher Reliabilität (α = .81, rtt =.85) und Konstruktvalidität, indiziert durch hohe Korrelationen von Nachsprechleistungen mit Ziffernspannen bei fehlendem Zusammenhang mit motorischen Leistungen. Nachsprechleistungen beider Gedächtnisaufgaben ergaben einen linearen Alterstrend, mit kontinuierlicherem Verlauf bei Ziffernfolgen, sowie große signifikante Unterschiede zwischen 3- und 4-jährigen Kindern. Die Diskussion der Ergebnisse umfasst den Bezug zur Sprachentwicklung. Der kombinierte Einsatz von Nachsprechaufgaben mit Kunstwörtern und Ziffernfolgen erscheint hinsichtlich einer differenzierten Diagnostik des phonologischen Gedächtnisses vielversprechend. ; In children aged 3 to 6 years phonological memory is pivotal for learning processes, for cognitive and language development and is an important precursor skill for later literacy and numeracy. Therefore, it is crucial to identify deficits in phonological memory at an early point of time. This requires tasks of high psychometric quality that match young children's world of experience. The aim of the current study was the construction and psychometric analysis of an item pool consisting of novel phonological material in the form of a nonword repetition task which was compared with a recall task of familiar phonological material regarding its suitability as a task for a general developmental test. The analysis sample comprised N = 58 children aged 3;1 to 5;5 years. They were randomly assigned to one of two item sets (n1 = 31, n2 = 27), each consisting of 20 constructed 2- to 6-syllable nonwords. A well-established digit recall task and theoretically dissimilar measures of the Wiener Entwicklungstest were administered alongside. Psychometrical analysis on the item sets and diverse scoring modes using probabilistic and classical methods were applied. An item selection of one item set (based on n1) resulted in 12 items which widely met expectations of the Rasch model, showed good objectivity of scoring, high reliability (α = .81, rtt = .85) and construct validity indicated by high correlation with digit span and no correlation with motor scores. Both repetition scores showed a linear age trend which was more continuous for digits. There were large significant differences between 3- and 4-year-old children. The discussion of results includes the reference to language development. The combined administration of nonword repetition tasks along with digit recall tasks seems to be promising in terms of a differentiated diagnostic assessment of phonological memory.
