Abstract:
The main objective of this paper is to present and argue for the relevance of a non-linear, interactive presentation of results of a qualitative investigation of language attitudes. After introducing the layout of the project, the conclusions of "traditional" qualitative analyses, i.e. a rhetorical and a discourse analysis are presented. Analyses show that although informants share common traits in both the exposition of their attitudes as well as their arguments for supporting a particular attitude, the overall picture is one of confusion rather than order. It is proposed that the challenge of the project is to find a mode of presentation which does not sweep this confusion under the rug, but rather holds it up as an interesting find in itself. As an attempt to confront this challenge, an interactive online presentation is presented. ; Hauptgegenstand dieses Beitrags ist es, die Bedeutung einer nicht-linearen, interaktiven Präsentation der Ergebnisse qualitativer Sprachforschung zu unterstreichen und zu illustrieren. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in das Design des hier vorgestellten Projekts folgt eine Skizze "traditioneller" qualitativer Analyse, indem die Ergebnisse aus einer rhetorischen und Diskursanalyse vorgestellt werden. Hierbei wird deutlich, dass das Gesamtbild nach Analyse eher komplex und konfus scheint, selbst wenn die Forschungsteilnehmer/innen bestimmte Eigenschaften und Einstellungen gemeinsam haben. Von hier ausgehend wird vorgeschlagen, diese Konfusion nicht beiseite zu schieben, sondern sich der Herausforderung zu stellen, die Vieldeutigkeit selbst als Ergebnis zu akzeptieren und nach einem angemessenen Weg der Präsentation der Ergebnisse zu suchen. Hierfür kommt dann eine interaktive Online-Präsentation zum Einsatz. ; El principal objetivo de este artículo es presentar y discutir la relevancia de la presentación no lineal interactiva de los resultados de una investigación cualitativa acerca de las actitudes hacia el lenguaje. Después de introducir el diseño del proyecto, se presentan las conclusiones de un análisis cualitativo "tradicional", i.e. un análisis de discurso y retórica. El análisis muestra que aunque los informantes comparten rasgos comunes, tanto en la exposición de sus actitudes como en sus argumentos para respaldar actitudes particulares, la imagen general es más bien de confusión, y no de orden. Se propone que el desafío del proyecto es encontrar un modo de presentación que no barra la confusión debajo de la alfombra, sino que la mantenga como un hallazgo interesante en si mismo. Se propone una presentación interactiva en línea como un intento para confrontar este desafío.
