Abstract:
Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Tonsystem der in Burkina Faso gesprochenen Gursprache Bwamu laa. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, welche Rolle der Ton im Lexikon und in der Grammatik dieser Sprache spielt, um notwendige Schlüsse für die Tonorthographie ziehen zu können. Die Arbeit glieder sich in vier Hauptkapitel: Das Einleitungskapitel liefert notwendige Kenntnisse über die Sprache und ihre Sprecher sowie über die Phonologie, Silbenstruktur und Rechtschreibung des Bwamu laa. Das zweite Kapitel widmet sich der Rolle des Tons im Lexikon, beginnend bei der Anzahl der Töne, der TBU, der Assoziationsregeln und der Verbal- und Nominalklassen, und beschreibt in weiterer Folge die Tonmelodien der Verben, Nomen, Pronomen und Lehnwörter. Im dritten Kapitel wird der Ton der Verben, Nomen und Pronomen im Satz untersucht, wobei die Bedeutung und die Interaktion der Töne in der Grammatik untersucht werden. Das vierte Kapitel behandelt die Frage nach der Tonorthographie anhand der Analyse zweier kurzer Texte bei denen auf die Tonorthographie verzichtet worden war.
