Ciberativismo em diabetes: \"lutamos por vidas, não por likes\" ; Cyberactivism in diabetes: \"we fight for lives, not for likes\"
; Introduction - In Brazil, health is every citizen's right and a duty of the State, who must meet the health needs of the population. As social constructions, health policies are formulated and reformulated based on debates between various social players, who express their interests and demands in spaces for political discussion. Cyberspace has proven to be a new participatory arena, without the ties of institutional participation structures. This study focuses on cyberactivism on diabetes. Objectives - To analyze cyberactivism on diabetes as a means of users' social participation. Methods - The study combines quantitative and qualitative methods, namely (1) mapping and analysis of profiles of Facebook diabetes pages, (2) identification of user- managed pages (diabetics and their families or friends), (3) extraction of content from users' diabetic pages between 2014 and 2018, (4) analysis of semantic networks, (5) lexical analysis, and (6) thematic analysis. Results and discussion - 146 diabetes pages were found, of which 40.41% are managed by users, whose posts constitute the corpus of analysis, with 43,611 texts. Among the 51.483 terms found that form the Map of Cyberactivism on Diabetes, the 15 most frequent are: diabetes, day, life, insulin, to know, good, person, diabetic, to stay, well, year, today, type, everything, and health. The most relevant terms (higher frequency and degree of connection), whose meanings are compiled on the Cyberactivism on Diabetes Vocabulary, were separated in three categories and analysis dimensions: \"survival and care production\", \"subjectivity and existence production\", and \"policies and demand production\". The analysis of the narratives demonstrate the correlation between the model and the practices of care offered to diabetics and the constitution of bioidentities and biosociabilities as a means to accessing rights, which translate into demands focused on biomedic knowledge and directed to the State. Conclusion - Internet favors user protagonism in the construction of health political demands, displaying cyberactivism on diabetes as a form of qualified social participation by autonomously-organized structures in civil society. To draw a more complete picture, it is necessary to investigate the phenomenon in all virtual spaces.
