Abstract:
『礼記』(紀元前1世紀)は古代中国の倫理規範に関する最も重要な経典の一つである。その中に言語行動に関する規範も多く含まれている。本研究は主に呼称表現に焦点をあて,その本の中の言語規範の内容,特に呼称の変異現象と社会的要因との関係,および当時儒教文化の価値観や世界観からの影響について論じた。本文は『礼記』中のすべての呼称規定を分析することによって,次のような5つの点を明らかにした。①『礼記』では呼称の待遇機能について,きわめて具体的に記述し,呼称表現が使用される場合の語用論的,社会言語学的な条件を詳しく提示した。②『礼記』呼称規定の中の話し手はおもに上層社会に限定され,古代中国語の社会方言の一形態一上層変種を反映したものと言える。③『礼記』呼称表現の待遇機能は主に話者や指示対象の身分によって使い分けられている。④『礼記』の中で呼称使用に影響を与えた社会的要因には,国内の上下身分の外に,諸侯国間のステータス順位も含まれている。⑤『礼記』呼称規範は当時社会の言語意識に影響され,当時の言語意識は古代中国の儒教倫理観,陰陽世界観に影響されている。\nThe book of rites, (Written a century before Christ) is one of the ancient Chinese classics which deals with the ethical principles of that period. Among these principles there are many concerning the norms (prescriptive uses) of language, especially variation with regards to address terms in view of social factors, Confucian values and the world view. This paper, after an analysis of all the prescriptive uses of address terms in The book of rites, concludes as follows: ①The book of rites illustrated very clearly the norms for interpersonal relations and provided many linguistic and social contexts for the appropriate conditions for terms of address. ②The interlocutors in The book of rites was mainly limited to the upper class of the period, thus characterizing the upper class register of ancient Chinese. ③In The book of rites, the function of address terms serving as polite expressions was mainly manifested by using different forms to people with different social status. ④In the applications of address terms in The book of rites, apart from the hierarchy within a society, the hierarchy between two societies played a role as well. ⑤The norms of the address terms in The book of rites were influenced by the language consciousness of the period which was in turn influenced by predominant Confucian values and the world view of Ying Yang in that period.
