Abstract:
在台灣,住在市區的小學學生和住在偏遠地區小學學生,在英語學習上有差距,已是長久存在的事實。考慮到這一點,透過慈善機構的資助,鄰近的大學與偏遠地區的小學合作,英語課後輔導計畫已在一所偏遠地區的小學進行。這項研究的目的主要是探討在英語課後輔導的成效,討論小學學生對於參與英語課後輔導的學習態度與教室行為,以及大學生輔導員對於執行英語課後輔導的收穫及困難。這項研究的參與者有三十位來自於南台灣一所偏遠小學的學生,和八位鄰近大學的大學生輔導員。這項研究的數據收集包括:學生參與英語課後輔導計畫期間的三次英語成就考試成績、學生以及大學生輔導員的問卷調查。結果顯示,參與學生三次英語成就考試成績存在顯著的差異。本實驗中的參與學生,提供了一些關於他們參與英語課後輔導之後的學習態度及教室行為改變。此外,大學生輔導員對於英語課後輔導計畫的反饋,也被納入在本研究的調查結果裡。並且,一些有關於英語教學的可能影響與建議,將會提供在本研究的最後章節。 ; It has been a fact that there is a gap in English learning between urban district elementary school students and remote district elementary school students in Taiwan. With this in mind, an afterschool English tutoring program was planned and conducted in cooperation with a charity funding, a neighborhood college, and a remote district elementary school. The study was aimed to explore the effectiveness of the tutoring program, which was conducted in a southern Taiwan underprivileged elementary school, not only on the students in terms of their English academic performance, attitudes, and behavior but also the benefits, and difficulties the college tutors encountered. The participants were 30 underprivileged elementary school students and 8 college tutors from a neighborhood college in southern Taiwan. The data collected of this study included the scores of three English academic tests, the questionnaires for the participating students and the college tutors. The results showed that there were significant differences among the participating students’ three English academic tests. Besides, the responses of the participating students had provided some meaningful information about their learning attitudes and classroom behavior toward the English tutoring program. The feedback of the college tutors was included in the findings. Moreover, some pedagogical implications and suggestions for future studies were proposed at the end of the study.
