El reto del trastorno de aprendizaje no verbal, TANV: propuestas para atender las dificultades de aprendizaje procedimental en el aula.
Abstract: La escasez de estudios acerca de las características del trastorno de aprendizaje no verbal (TANV) genera su desconocimiento por parte de los/as profesionales impidiendo que realicen diagnósticos y evaluaciones diferenciadas, así como prácticas educativas adecuadas. Este trabajo describe las características de este trastorno del neurodesarrollo que implica dificultades de aprendizaje procedimental, entre las que se encuentran aquellas vinculadas con la automatización de procesos motores y de estrategias cognitivas en el aprendizaje implícito de rutinas, trastorno del desarrollo de la coordinación motora, déficit en la integración visoespacial, limitaciones lingüísticas por dificultades en el procesamiento de la información no verbal, dificultades en las funciones ejecutivas, así como dificultades para mantener la estabilidad emocional y en las relaciones con iguales. Por ello, en este trabajo se proponen orientaciones educativas en las diversas áreas curriculares para promover tanto las competencias académicas, como las sociales y emocionales. Se plantean medidas ordinarias como la reducción del uso de la escritura, facilitar pautas y apoyos visuales para la organización temporal, proporcionar ayudas en el uso de tablas y gráficos o el uso de herramientas digitales, así como promover procedimientos alternativos de evaluación o desglosar los enunciados y ajustar espacios en los exámenes escritos. Se reivindica la generación de entornos amigables favorecedores de la autoestima y la dimensión emocional del niño o la niña al completo. Se concluye incidiendo en la necesidad de seguir avanzando hasta lograr escuelas inclusivas que visibilicen las diferencias y entiendan la diversidad como valor, promoviendo experiencias gratificantes y enriquecedoras para todo el alumnado. ; The shortage of studies on the characteristics of non-verbal learning disorder (NVLD) coupled with the lack of knowledge on the part of the professionals leads to both diagnoses and erroneous evaluations as well as inadequate educational practices for children. This work describes the characteristics of this neurodevelopmental disorder that involves procedural learning difficulties among which are those related to difficulties to the automation of motor processes and cognitive strategies in the implicit learning of routines, developmental disorder of motor coordination, deficit in visuo-spatial integration, linguistic limitations due to difficulties in processing non-verbal information, difficulties in executive functions, as well as difficulties in maintaining emotional stability and in peer relationships. For this reason, in this work educational orientations are proposed in the different curricular areas to promote not only academic skills, but also social and emotional ones. Ordinary measures are proposed such as reducing the use of writing, providing guidelines and visual aids for the temporal organization, providing help in the use of tables and graphs or the use of digital tools, as well as promoting alternative evaluation procedures or breaking down the statements and adjust spaces in written exams. The generation is of friendly environments that favor self-esteem and the emotional dimension of the whole child is claimed. We conclude with the need to progress into achieving inclusive schools that highlight differences and understand diversity as a value, promoting gratifying and rewarding experiences for all students.
