Trojica, gestorben 1874 in Ptuj. Er war Kaplan und widmete sein Leben der Linguistik. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war es Oroslav Caf als Sammler und Linguist darzustellen. Zeit seines Lebens schaffte er es eine beachtliche Sammlung von 60.000 Wörtern aufzubauen. Betrachtet wurde Cafs Leben unter besonderer Rücksicht auf das Sammeln und seine Sammelmethodik, sowie dessen Verbindung zu Sprache und Linguistik. Aufgrund der Digitalisierung von Pleteršniks Wörterbuch (auch Deutsch-Slowenisches Wörterbuch/ Nemško-slovenski slovar oder Wolfs Wörterbuch/ Wolfov slovar) wurde eine Analyse seines Wortmaterials möglich. Das für diese Arbeit ausgewählte Korpus beinhaltet Wörter die Caf in Fram, einem kleinen slowenischen Dorf in der Nähe von Maribor sammelte und die 1894/5 in dem Slowenisch-Deutschen Wörterbuch von Pleteršnik veröffentlicht wurden. ; The chaplain Oroslav Caf was born 1814 in Ročica near Sv. Trojica and died 1874 in Ptuj by suicide. Even though he worked as a clerk, his life was dedicated to language and linguistics. The aim of this study is to present Oroslav Caf’s life as a collector and linguist. During his lifetime he amassed a considerable collection of 60,000 words. We ask to what extent his collected word material and his connection through it to existing scientific practice identified him as a linguistic and collector. We consider Caf’s life with particular attention to his collection, his collection methods and his connection to language and linguistics. By virtue of the digitalization of Pleteršniks dictionary (also Deutsch-Slowenisches Dictionary/ Nemško-slovenski slovar or Wolfs Dictionary/ Wolfov slovar) an anaylsis of his word material is possible. From this corpus we chose for this work words collected in Fram, a small slovenian town in the neighbourhood of Maribor, and published in 1894/5 in Pleteršniks dictionary.
