Abstract:
We have collected data for three studies on children's conversational contingency. In one study we compared 30 autistic 5- to 7-year-olds with 30 neuro-typical peers, where all were recruited from schools. THIS STUDY IS NOT PRE-REGISTERED AS THE DATA HAS ALREADY BEEN ANALYSED (LOGISTIC REGRESSION). In another study, we collected data in a developmental lab from 48 typically-developing six-year-olds. For this study, the transcription of null responses is not yet complete and hence coding and analysis have not yet taken place. WE ARE PRE-REGISTERING THE ANALYSIS HERE. Finally, in another study we collected data from 40 children aged between 5 and 9 years who received an autism diagnosis. The conversation data was collected as part of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, which comprised part of the diagnosis procedure.
