Abstract:
The aim of this article is to present the most productive morphological shapes of baoulé proverbs. For us, the identification of proverbial shapes is a useful practice. Actually, every language has a specific way to build proverbs. This singular way allows speakers to recognize a proverbial utterance even if they have not seen or heard it before. So, the shape appears as a recognizing element of proverb. It confers to the proverb a pragmatic force. Thenceforth, the translation of proverb must take into account the proverbial shape of target language. Thereby, as far as we are concerned, the proverbial shape searching is the beginning step to proverbs translation. That why we present in this paper the most used proverbial shape of baoulé in order to help translators of proverbs toward this language.
