Abstract: Version prépublication. ; The question of singularity is often placed at the heart of the discourses on the Khmer language, whether works are focused directly on the language or rely upon it as a grid for interpreting society. The article sets out to explore the different types of work on the Khmer language in an attempt to understand the statuses of the singularity that each accords it. ; La question de singularité est souvent placée au cœur des discours sur l langue khmère, qu'il s'agisse des travaux portant directement sur la langue ou ceux qui s'appuient sur celle-ci comme grille de lecture de sa société. Cet article propose un parcours sur les différents types de travaux sur la langue khmère pour tenter de comprendre les statuts de la singularité que les uns et les autres lui accordent.
